MeetingsDate Time Venue Subject/Activity T.B.A. UCC meeting, BYO
computer problem solving and general Linux chin
waging. When Are They UsuallyPLUG meets every second Tuesday of the month at 1 Havelock St, at 7:30 PM. It is a white building near the corner of Havelock street and Kings Park road. PLUG also meets every fourth Monday at the University Computer Club (UCC) at the University of Western Australia. ALL welcome! This meeting is a general problem solving and information exchange session. Voice inquiries (including navigation on the day) can be made on 0409-655359. How to Get To The UCCThe UCC is located on Hackett Drive, about 400 meters down from Mounts Bay road. On your left, you will see a white toilet block and a small car-park, and at that point, on your right is an entrance to UWA. Park somewhere in here. Most commercial road maps show a pair of jetties on the river near here. The UCC is in the south-east corner of the building to the west of you (your right hand as you arrive). You can see an on-line map here. We're interested in the section at F6, which is enlarged and shown at about H/I 3/4. The UCC is on the third floor in the bottom right corner of the largest blob in the enlargement, coded "building with all floors generally accessible," which is a lie in this case, but if your wheelchair's light there will be no shortage of sedan-bearers! There is another map
here,
and click "next map" on the top edge.
You are looking for this building: Finally, here is a third opinion of the location showing the UCC level with the bottom of the oval and to the right of it. You can view a virtual tour of the UCC and some of its surroundings at here. The Tour starts in the same place and orientation as the red arrow in the image above. |
