Welcome:

Welcome to the new Perth Linux Users Group (PLUG) homepage. PLUG is an official organisation that was developed by the 'core' Linux users of Western Australia to spread the word about the idea of opensource software and in more detail, Linux.

Anyone who would like to keep up to date with Perth's Linux community, or get some tips from the pro's is advised to join our mailing list.

There is also a page with information and links to Linux resources.

Mission:

Our mission has not been formalised but some of our goals are:

  • Advocate the use of Linux.
  • Provide a focal point for local users to make contacts to get help.
  • Improve the groups' knowledge about Linux and associated products.

If you would like information about Linux User Groups in Australia, how to contact them or their location, then have a look at the List of Linux User Groups.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank:
  • Linux Australia for providing the list server resources, domain name and hosting the web page.
  • UWA Department of Computer Science for providing a meeting place for us.
  • The Tennyson Group for providing a meeting place for us.

News:

Well sometime in January we had the PLUG Quakeathon up on the 15th floor in the QV.1 building thanks to Gary Allpike aka. Spice. It could of had a better turnout but those who came left with a few goodies, hehe.

Linux Games!
